Engineering meets elegance in the Azimut Open S line, with the distinctive “checkerboard” windows and the scarlet stripe that highlights its sporty, yet graceful, design. Azimut’s engineers have taken great pains to maximize the use of space in the 40S. For instance, the cockpit and living area unite in one large open space with the door open, and separate for more intimacy with it shut.

Forward-thinking engineering makes the Azimut 40S energy-efficient. Two groups of solar panels to recharge batteries when moored or whenever there is no external power supply are integrated into the boat design. The LED lighting system also increases battery life. The Proteo system manages use of all the main electrical boards and prevents blackouts.

Ride the waves at up to 37 knots sped by the two Cummins QSB 5.9 360 kW 480 MHP engines. Take advantage of the hard top that opens electronically to let the skipper feel the wind in his hair.

The Azimut 40S has a sporty interior design, too. The bulkheads and ceilings are sheathed in technical fabrics in contrasting chocolate brown and champagne. Onboard furniture is made of zebrano wood with leather tops.

The cockpit has a table and a C-shaped, six-person bench that converts into an extra sundeck.

Below decks, the salon has a large storage cupboard and an L-shaped sofa that converts into a bed. The pilot seat and the sofa are top-range leather in dark brown. A dining area with a table that extends to accommodate six people is under the hard top. The galley includes a 190-liter refrigerator, a two-burner hotplate and a steel sink. A cabin for two includes a private bathroom. Like all the bathrooms on board, it has a circular shower.

At the bow, the owner’s suite has ample storage. Richly textured off-white leather covers the bed head. Natural white and silky silver fabrics shimmer on the bedspreads.
