Over the years, the distinctive 54-foot Bertram has been sought after by sport fishermen who appreciate life’s comforts. The new Bertram 540 keeps all the well-loved features of the classic 54-footer, and adds innovations to increase the pleasure and safety of the angling experience.

Most striking are the wrap-around windows that give a complete 360-degree view from the bridge and flood both the cockpit and the salon with light. Bertram’s designers chose white oak and an open layout for the salon, to add an elegant ambiance for entertaining. Port and starboard windows provide both natural light and ocean views in the three luxurious staterooms. Ferretti group’s Advanced Yacht Technologies designed and tested these windows, which consist of many layers of glass to stand up to the worst sport-fishing weather and are reinforced directly into the fiberglass hull to add to the overall strength of the hull.

Storage space is maximized and holds as many as twenty-five rods; added tackle storage, a baitwell, and a freezer are incorporated into the mezzanine. The transom fish box easily converts into another baitwell or icemaker. A larger, deeper cockpit floor fish box is now located on each side of the fighting chair for efficient access from the transom door.

The new Bertram 540 enhances dining and entertaining with an open bar area in the galley so that guests can move easily between the salon and the cockpit entryway. The aft cockpit window lowers into the bulkhead to create a pass-through between the cockpit and the galley for easy service of food and drinks.

Stereo sound systems integrated into the bridge, salon and cockpit feature iPOD connections to offer quality sound with easy control. Appliances and components were chosen to be easily serviced in both United States and European markets. Every detail has been attended to, from underwater exhaust to LED lighting and both 12- and 11-volt outlets, to extra cup holders.
